Hallo!

I Just heard today on the radio that David Ekholm the Swedish Biathlete is ending his biathlon carrier, and will compete in cycling from now on. Ekholm is perhaps best known for being the companion of Helena Jonsson, did not qualify for the olympics in Vancouver and has been fighting with bad results this season.

I wish David all the best of luck on his new endeavours.

AND it this must be clear - I really like Katrin very much and I wish her a great  Wc ending.

I think kathrin can/will tie in with her succes' two years ago, if she won't get ill again
and I also think that tina will establish next year..

and there are still Henkel and Neuner, who can keep up with the world-bests biathlets ..

Intense endurance training lowers the body's immune system, thus making one more susceptible to infections. Going from dry to humid air (like from Bayern to the Dachstein glacier) can also be problematic. At least half of the swedish cross-country team has been knocked out of training due to ill-health at some point this autumn. That happens. But it really isn't such a huge problem if you have a couple of colds in an 8-month off-season, because it shouldn't have that great an impact on overall training load. It's certainly better to have a couple of minor infections off-season than in-season. You should be more worried about her taking a two month vacation and then struggling to find her motivation in the summer. Of course, motivational problems doesn't necessarily mean she wasn't putting in the required effort and I thought she performed pretty well at the german nationals. Actually, very well in the long distances and okay in the short distances.

Hallo !!

News about Helena Ekholm - she has got a stomach flu. It was on Friday night she did not get much sleep. She feels a bit drained
on energy, but is hopeful about the WC start i Östersund 1 of December.

New trainer for the men, but Pischler stays with the girls.

Oh, bad Luck. I hope she gain her health back soon. Normally, she archieved her best results in the first half of the season.

* Has a younger sister Jenny Jonsson who is also a biathlete.
* She started as a rifle shooter, then she started with biathlon. AS did her sister.
* I´ve heard that she thinks her legs are to long for god skiing !
* She broke the hearts of all swedes - when she fell into tears after the failure in Vancouver.
* She is studying to be an accounted at the university of Östersund.

Just read that Magdalena is sick and will not start in Östersund...  BOOOOMER..
She sad that the training camp in Finnish Muoino was extremely cold and stressful on her. WHY DO THEY GO TO THAT COLD AWFUL PLACE???

There are many places in the north of Sweden that has plenty of snow but are nor as extremely cold!! For some unknown reason almost all coutures teams go to Muonio. Strange I think!! 


Björn Ferrys girlfriend - the arm wrestler Heidi Andersson a nice sweet girl I think, was born in the small village of "ensamheten"  The loneliness???

THAT is a remote place indeed !!!
Ferry him self - is out hunting wild birds with his new hunting rifle, he writes on his HP, he misses a lot - often.

In Östersund a new, but rather old (29 years old) women will start in the Swedish team. Her name is Anna-Karin Strömstedt and she is a former cross-country skier, who took part in OG in Turino 2006. Struggling with injuries and bad results she decides to try out biathlon and will get a chance to race on home sole.

I divided on this strategy of converting "old" cross-country skiers to biathletes. She is 29 years old now and she has not so many years left as a biathlete. I think the limited resources of the Swedish biathlete federation could and probably should be spend on young promising talents instead. But that is in some way more risky and it will take longer time to get the results. But in the long run it is better I think to go with the young talents.
